Database AdministratorEssential ResponsibilitiesAdminister, maintain, and implement policies and procedures for ensuring the security and integrity of our databases.Oversee the installation, configuration, and upgrading of database server software and related products.Evaluate database features and database-related products; provide recommendations for solutions and improvements.Monitor database systems to ensure secure services with minimal downtime.Responsible for providing trend analysis to management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management.Responsible for troubleshooting and problem-solving of SQL database-related issues.Manage and test backup and recovery plans; ensure that storage and archiving procedures are functioning correctly.Conduct regular performance tuning and capacity monitoring to enhance system efficiency.Work closely with development teams to optimize SQL queries and database schemas.Coordinate and implement database policies, procedures, and standards, and ensure their compliance.QualificationsMinimum of 5 years of experience in database administration, management, and support in complex environments.Strong experience with database technologies PostgreSQL or other NoSQL databases.Experience with cloud services preferably AWS.Has skills with database security, backup, recovery, and replication.In-depth knowledge of SQL, PL/SQL, and database management concepts.Familiarity with Windows and Linux/UNIX environments.Reporting skills such as SSIS, SSRS, or similar.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills.Strong verbal and written communication skills.Preferred SkillsCertifications in database management or related fields.Experience with NoSQL databases and big data technologies.Familiarity with programming/scripting languages like Python, Bash, etc.
