The Document Management team owns how documents work across Docusign; how they are stored, processed, protected, and managed throughout their lifecycle, at global scale. We are hiring a Software Engineer in Seattle to help us take that on. This is a role for someone who wants hard, high-impact problems: Tier-0 services that many products depend on, large and growing data volumes, and the opportunity to shape how we bring AI-native approaches to documents. You will own ambiguous problems end to end and see your work make a difference quickly.This position is an individual contributor role reporting to the Sr. Manager, Engineering.ResponsibilityDesign, build, and operate backend services that power documents at Docusign at global scaleOwn features end to end, design, implementation, deployment, and operationsContribute to the reliability, performance, and security of Tier-0 services that other teams depend onApply AI-native development practices in how you build, and help build AI-powered capabilities on top of our documentsParticipate in design and code reviews with a focus on resilience and graceful failure, not just functionalityTroubleshoot and resolve issues across environments, and improve alerting, dashboards, and operational runbooksCollaborate across teams and help raise the engineering barJob DesignationHybrid:Employee divides their time between in-office and remote work. Access to an office location is required. Docusign reserves the right to change a position's job designation depending on business needs and as permitted by local law.What you bringBasicBachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience5+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating production backend servicesExperience developing microservices with C#Experience operating high-availability services where uptime, security, and correctness are non-negotiableExperience with large-scale, distributed systemsExperience owning and solving complex problems end-to-endPreferredExperience operating Tier-0 or mission-critical services at large, global scaleAI-native development experience - using AI tools in your day-to-day workflow and/or building AI-powered product featuresExperience with cloud platforms (Azure), microservices, and REST API designExperience with high data volumes, storage systems, or content/document processingExperience with observability tooling, CI/CD pipelines, and on-call operationsWage TransparencyPay for this position is based on a number of factors including geographic location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.Based on applicable legislation, the below details pay ranges in the following locations:Washington: $146,400.00 - $206,775.00 base salaryThis role is also eligible for the following:Bonus: Sales personnel are eligible for variable incentive pay dependent on their achievement of pre-established sales goals.
