Registered Nurse - Medical-Surgical

This is a 13-week contract position for a Registered Nurse with a focus on Medical-Surgical care. The role requires a minimum of two years of Med-Surg experience and one year of travel experience. The nurse will work in a high acuity unit on straight night shifts, with responsibilities including patient assessment, care planning, medication administration, and collaboration with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to ensure high-quality, compassionate care for patients.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, emotional, and psychological health.
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team.
• Monitor patient progress and adjust care plans based on changing conditions.
• Administer medications and treatments accurately, monitoring responses and reporting concerns.
• Document all patient assessments, interventions, medications, treatments, and outcomes.
• Collaborate with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver holistic patient care.
• Educate patients and their families on managing conditions and preparing for discharge.
• Ensure patient safety by following infection control and safety measures.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Registered Nurse (RN) with a valid Ohio nursing license.
• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a medical-surgical specialty.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association.
• Experience in a high acuity unit, with mentor or charge experience preferred.

Schedule:

Position requires straight nights from 7 PM to 7:30 AM with every other weekend and holiday coverage. On-call duties as per unit needs, with the expectation to arrive within 1 hour if called in.
