Key Responsibilities
  • Assess and evaluate patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric age groups through both standardized measures and observational strategies.
  • Craft individualized treatment plans that cater to immediate goals while addressing long-term communication, cognitive, or swallowing requirements.
  • Deliver targeted speech therapy focused on enhancing communication, language abilities, fluency, voice modulation, and swallowing techniques.
  • Engage collaboratively with physical and occupational therapists, nursing staff, doctors, caregivers, and family members to forge unified care strategies.
  • Provide insightful patient and family education to facilitate progress outside the therapy environment.
  • Conduct occasional speech therapy evaluations and interventions within inpatient settings to ensure seamless care during the entire treatment progression.
  • Keep precise and timely documentation that adheres to state, federal, and organizational standards.
  • Continue to stay abreast of industry trends and innovations through ongoing education and peer discussions.
Qualifications
  • M.S. in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution.
  • Successful completion of a supervised Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if not yet ASHA-certified.
Certifications
  • State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist .
  • Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of hire.

  • Expertise in evidence-based treatment modalities for various age groups, with a comprehensive grasp of developmental and acquired speech, language, and swallowing disorders.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills to connect effectively with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams.
  • Ability to modify therapeutic approaches to respect cultural and linguistic diversity.
  • Strong clinical reasoning and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical record systems and documentation protocols.
