What You’ll Do

• Precision Craftsmanship: Trim, shim, cut, align, and assemble structural aircraft subassemblies using precision pneumatic tools, drills, "C" squeezes, and rivet pullers.

• Blueprint Expertise: Interpret complex engineering drawings, mylars, wiring lists, and work instructions to determine exact hardware placements and countersink specs.

• Quality & Inspection: Perform rigorous fit-and-function checks using micrometers and calipers to ensure 100% compliance with strict specifications.

• Rework & Maintenance: Perform rework from test failures, assist with automated assembly operations, and maintain tooling for peak efficiency.

• Leadership Opportunity: Senior team members have the opportunity to mentor staff, guide assembly teams, and evaluate finished work.

What You Bring

• Experience: 1–2 years in aerospace or high-precision manufacturing assembly preferred.

• Technical Skills: strong blueprint reading skills, mastery of basic workshop math, and familiarity with hand, power, and measuring tools.

• Physical Capabilities: Ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs and stand for long stretches during assembly shifts.

• Mindset: Extreme attention to detail, a focus on safety, and a strong commitment to quality craftsmanship.

Responsibilities

• Assembly & Fitting: Position, align, and assemble aircraft components, subassemblies, and hardware using hand/power tools, pneumatic drills, drill presses, "C" squeezes, and rivet pullers.

• Blueprint & Work Order Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering drawings, mylars, wiring lists, work orders, and shop routers to determine component locations and countersink/fastener requirements.

• Structure Preparation & Fastening: Drill holes in structures, trim/cut/shim components, and bolt, screw, or rivet accessories, brackets, hinges, or clips to secure installations.

• Quality Assurance & Testing: Inspect and test installed units for fit, performance, and compliance with customer specifications. Complete all required quality documentation.

• Rework & Equipment Operation: Perform necessary rework from test failures using standard repair procedures. Set up and operate automated assembly equipment.

• Maintenance & Inventory: Perform preventative maintenance on tooling and assembly presses, and verify hardware/part counts against shop routers.

• Senior-Level Leadership: Senior assemblers may serve as team leaders to train new staff and evaluate finished work.
