Staff / Senior Software Engineer
Fully Remote - US / Canada
Base $200k - $350k + Equity
FutureTech Recruitment is partnered with a $40M+ funded Series B FinTech / AI startup operating in one of the largest and most antiquated financial markets in the US. Their AI-native platform automates complex, multi-step workflows for major financial institutions - with $70B+ processed through the platform, a major enterprise customer going live in H2 2026, and 3 years of runway. This milestone puts them at profitability.
They’re hiring a Staff / Senior Software Engineer to ship mission-critical systems from day one. TypeScript monorepo, end-to-end type safety, 100% infrastructure-as-code, AI-native architecture - not bolted-on AI, but AI-first from the ground up. Remote-first across US and Canada with strong benefits including 100% medical premiums covered for employees and families.
Responsibilities
- Architect, build, and launch complex multi-step AI agents that automate mission-critical operational workflows
- Integrate with third-party APIs to generate documents, produce automated underwriting results, and prevent fraud
- Build and scale job processing infrastructure on AWS for improved observability and reliability
- Design and scale complex relational DB schemas - performant storage, retrieval, and updates at enterprise scale
- Develop full-stack features from design through deployment, maintaining end-to-end type safety
- Mentor junior engineers in both technical and soft skills
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software engineering
- Strong TypeScript proficiency with hands-on examples of complex systems built recently
- Experience scaling high-throughput distributed systems on AWS with Terraform
- Full-stack: React frontend, Node/Express backend, GraphQL/Apollo, PostgreSQL
- Familiarity with modern AI product development - evals, experiment design, dataset curation
Tech Stack
TypeScript, React, Node.js, GraphQL/Apollo, PostgreSQL, AWS (ECS, RDS, ElastiCache, Kafka, Elasticsearch), Terraform, Docker
$70B+ processed. Major enterprise customer going live H2 2026. Profitability in sight. If you’re a deeply technical engineer who wants to ship AI-native systems that handle serious financial scale - and do it on a modern stack with a remote-first team – click Apply Now!
