The City of Shoreview is looking for motivated, high-energy individuals to provide tennis instruction for both our in-house group tennis classes and private/semi-private tennis lessons.

Group tennis classes operate Saturday mornings-early afternoon from September 12 - October 17 (6 weeks). Group classes are designed to provide instruction in a group setting that meets national standards in basic skills and drills for players ranging between the ages of 5-11.

Semi-Private & Private lessons operate throughout the spring - fall, depending on weather. These lessons are designed to provide personalized, high-quality instruction for players ages 6 & up looking to improve on skills in a smaller setting. Participants receive 5 lessons for 60-minutes each; instructors will work with the participants to determine the dates, times, and locations of each lesson. Private lessons will be 1-on-1 instruction, Semi-Private will be 2-on-1 instruction.

Rate of Pay:

Group Classes: $14.75 - $18.00 Hourly

Semi-Private & Private Lessons: $18.50 - $22.00 Hourly

Physical Demands: Employee frequently stands, walks, runs, and demonstrates tennis skills while instructing youth ages 5–14 in group, semi-private, and private lesson settings. Position requires frequent reaching, bending, stooping, and continuous movement on outdoor court surfaces. Employee must be able to lift and move up to 30 lbs. of tennis equipment and supplies.

Environmental Conditions: Work is performed primarily outdoors on tennis courts with exposure to sun, rain, wind, humidity, and varying temperatures. Group classes are held weekday evenings (Monday–Thursday) June–July, with possible fall sessions; private and semi-private lessons occur spring through fall based on weather and instructor availability. Evening and weekend hours are required. Hazards are moderate and typical of youth athletic instruction.
