JOB SUMMARY
Reporting directly to a Juvenile Services Shift Supervisor, responsible for providing direct care supervision to youth in pre- and post-adjudication facilities using trauma-informed practices. Level I of II in Juvenile Supervision. This is a temporary/seasonal position, and is restricted to a maximum of 130 calendar days per year.

The Diana Screen® is administered on a computer in our office and takes approximately 30 minutes to complete. The Diana Screen® helps to identify people who may step over a sexual boundary line or who may present a sexual risk to children and teens. This position is temporary/seasonal and only able to offer a maximum of 130 working days per calendar year. The initial training period is 3 weeks long and requires a newly hired employee be present for the entirety of training, Monday-Friday, 8:00am-5:00pm. After the initial training period., scheduling may be flexible depending on availability of the employee and also based on needs of the facility. This is a temporary/seasonal position, which means there is no guarantee in the number of work hours each week. The successful candidate for this position will have the ability to work a flexible schedule, especially in the summer months, and will be able to report to work when given short notice. JOB SUMMARY

EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
- Understands, practices, and promotes the vision of Williamson County Juvenile Services
- Maintains daily focus on the department's service philosophy when interacting with youth, including emphasis on Developmental Assets, Developmental Relationships, SPARK identification, Motivational Interviewing, and Trust-Based Relational Intervention (TBRI)
- Supervises and redirects youth behavior using appropriate trauma-focused interventions when necessary
- Oversees the daily activities of residents (i.e. education, physical education, group activities, hygiene, housekeeping chores, meals, visitations, etc.)
- Conducts and/or coordinates social casework activities
- Performs intake, admission, and release of residents and completes all necessary paperwork
- Completes all daily documentation reports, including youth behavior and progress reports
- Operates departmental and personal vehicles to transport residents as needed
- Maintains a clean and safe living environment in designated facility
- Readily complies with departmental / countywide policies and Texas Juvenile Justice Department standards

ENVIRONMENTAL FACTORS
- Maximum security facility behind locked doors
- Continuous contact with youth accused of or adjudicated for various crimes
- Work is primarily conducted indoors in air-conditioned building
- May be required to perform some work outdoors in inclement weather (heat, cold, wet conditions)
IRREGULAR HOURS
- Requires flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and/or weekend hours, sometimes on short notice
- May be deemed essential personnel in the event of an emergency
- Essential personnel for emergency situations; discretion of department director
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Be at least 21 years of age per Texas Administrative Code Section 344.200
- Not have a disqualifying criminal history as defined in Texas Administrative Code Chapter 344
Required within thirty (30) days of employment
- Valid driver's license
- Texas Juvenile Justice Department (TJJD) Juvenile Supervision Officer certification
- Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) certification
- First aid certification
- Handle with Care certification
- Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI) trained
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- One (1) year of experience working with youth (i.e. teaching, counseling, coaching, mentoring, etc.)
- Bachelor's degree in a related field
