Data Science Manager, Finance & Strategy

Salary: $68,000 - 108,000 per year Requirements:

• We expect at least 3 years of direct management experience leading data science or machine learning teams, along with 10 years of overall data science experience.
• We value demonstrated expertise in designing metrics and using data to guide business decisions.
• We need strong technical depth to bring clarity to staff and senior scientists on architecture and strategic modeling choices.
• We look for experience managing teams that have built and launched machine learning systems and data products at scale, including hands-on work with complex problems.
• We want someone who collaborates effectively across functions and can think rigorously while making difficult decisions and tradeoffs.
• We need clear, persuasive communication skills, both written and verbal.

• A PhD or MS in a quantitative field such as Statistics, Operations Research, Economics, Computer Science, or Engineering is a plus.
• Experience working with geographically distributed teams is preferred.
• Expertise in time series forecasting, predictive modeling, or optimization is preferred.
• Experience in data design and building scalable data architectures is preferred.

• We recruit and onboard strong data scientists in partnership with our recruiting team.
• We contribute to broader data science initiatives as part of Stripes data science management team.
• We are deeply involved in modeling and design work, as well as coaching, mentoring, and leading the team.
• We work closely with data scientists, analysts, and engineers to build technical solutions and communicate with senior leadership.
