As a Systems Engineer, you will:Perform technical planning, systems integration, and verification and validation activities for complex solutions or productsConduct cost, risk, and supportability/effectiveness analyses across all levels of the total system product lifecycleSupport the logical and systematic conversion of customer requirements into total systems solutionsPerform functional analysis, timeline analysis, and detailed trade studies to translate customer requirements into technical specificationsCoordinate with cross-functional engineering teams and government stakeholdersContribute to system architecture development and technical documentationResponsibilities:Apply systems engineering principles across concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, maintenance, and disposal phasesPerform requirements allocation and interface definition studies to support system design decisionsSupport the development of technical baselines and system architecture documentationConduct trade studies and technical analyses to evaluate alternative design approachesWork independently with limited supervision while coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level professionalsMay manage projects or processes within assigned areas of responsibilityInfluence others regarding system design, solutions, and proceduresSupport integration and test events including development, operational, and acceptance testingDevelop technical documentation including system specifications, interface control documents, and engineering artifactsApply engineering domain knowledge which may include hardware, communications, cyber, electrical, or other specialized engineering disciplinesInterface with customers, suppliers, and other technical and support personnelQualifications:Required:Active Secret security clearance (required)Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline7+ years of professional experience in systems engineeringDemonstrated experience with systems integration, verification and validation, and technical planningExperience with requirements analysis, functional decomposition, and interface managementStrong understanding of systems engineering lifecycle processes and methodologiesExperience performing trade studies and technical assessmentsStrong analytical and problem-solving skills with ability to resolve difficult and sometimes complex technical problemsExcellent technical writing and communication skillsDemonstrated ability to work independently with limited supervisionExperience coaching and reviewing the work of junior engineering staffDesired:Active Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibilityExperience with C5ISR, SIGINT, EW, or intelligence systems architectureKnowledge of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) using SysML and tools such as Cameo or MagicDrawFamiliarity with DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF) products and developmentUnderstanding of MOSA, SOSA, and CMOSS open architecture standardsExperience with requirements management tools such as DOORS, Jama, or Cameo RequirementsKnowledge of systems engineering standards such as IEEE 15288 or EIA 632Experience with test planning, execution, and technical evaluationsFamiliarity with Agile systems engineering and iterative development approachesPrevious experience supporting government program officesExperience with hardware/software interface design and documentationUnderstanding of digital engineering and digital thread concepts-What You Can Expect: A culture of integrity.At CACI, we place character and innovation at the center of everything we do.
