About the Role
The Company is seeking a General Counsel for Government Contracts to spearhead the legal strategy and ensure compliance with a complex web of U.S. government contract regulations. This leadership role is pivotal in advising on and managing the legal aspects of government contracts, including FAR, DFARS, DPAS, and domestic sourcing requirements. The successful candidate will be responsible for contract negotiations, risk management, and compliance, with a focus on protecting the company's revenue and customer relationships. The role also involves significant influence on legal and business strategy, and the development of policies and procedures to support organizational readiness and risk management. Applicants must have a J.D. and at least 10 years' of legal experience, with a strong background in government contracts. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in FAR, DFARS, DPAS, and related obligations, as well as expertise in contract drafting and negotiation. Experience in crisis management, investigations, and regulatory engagement is highly valued. The role requires excellent judgment, stakeholder management, and the ability to lead and influence across various teams. A practical understanding of federal contracting concepts and the ability to operate effectively in a global, industrial, or technology-focused environment is essential.
