divh2Patient Services Coordinator II/h2pIllinois Bone Joint Institute, LLC, is one of the largest independent physician-owned orthopedic practices in the United States, with 100 locations and 150 physicians throughout the Chicagoland area, with expertise in every orthopedic specialty, and complete diagnostic and rehab services./ppThe main focus of the Patient Services Coordinator II position is to deliver exceptional patient-centered customer service and to support IBJI teams. This position is responsible for accurate registration, optimal patient scheduling, training/mentoring of new staff, escalating issues, and other office duties that contribute to a great patient experience, a positive team atmosphere, and achieve company goals./ppResponsibilities include:/pulliWelcome patients and visitors to IBJI by providing and maintaining the highest quality customer service experience/liliPreparing paperwork to facilitate efficient operation and excellent customer service/liliAnswering general inquiries/liliAppointment scheduling/liliPhone reception, patient triage, and escalation to appropriate staff/liliRegistration/pre-registration procedures to include the review of patient demographics, insurance and advising patient to provide any necessary documents/liliCheck in/out procedures/liliPatient chart management/liliCollection/posting of patient responsibility payments (including copays and deductibles)/liliInsurance verification and Referral management as required/liliAssist in training staff and mentoring new employees within department/liliMaintains clean and safe work environment/liliOther office duties as assigned/li/ulpRequirements:/ppEducation:/pulliHigh school diploma or equivalent required/liliAssociates degree preferred (healthcare concentration field a plus)/li/ulpExperience:/pulliMinimum three years experience in customer service role required (medical office experience is a plus)/liliMinimum 1 year in a patient services related role required/liliEHR experience with Epic experience preferred/li/ulpSkills:/pulliBilingual Spanish/liliKnowledge in medical terminology preferred/liliAbility to handle highly confidential, sensitive and non-routine information/liliFamiliarity with scheduling and rearranging appointments/liliPossess good working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Windows-based computer applications./liliInsurance payer and eligibility knowledge/liliMust be a team player/liliAble to work in a fast-paced environment and have a flexible schedule as needed/liliNeat, professional appearance/liliStrong written and verbal communication skills/liliResults oriented with concern for appropriate process./liliWillingness to attend and successfully complete ongoing training required to maintain responsibilities./li/ulpPhysical/Mental Demands:/pulliWork may require hand dexterity for office machine operation; using a calculator and/or computer keyboard./liliPhysical demands may also include, stooping, bending or reaching to files and supplies, wearing a headset, mobility to complete errands or deliveries, sitting for extended periods of time and viewing a computer monitor./li/ulpEnvironmental/Working Conditions:/pulliMust be available to work a flexible schedule to meet the demands of a changing scheduling environment and accommodate the needs of the practice./liliWork is performed in a fast paced office environment and involves frequent contact with physicians, staff, patients, and the public./liliWork may be stressful at times./liliContact may involve dealing with angry or upset people./li/ulpThis description is intended to provide only basic guidelines for meeting job requirements.
