Job DescriptionThe Payments Observability Technical Product Manager is responsible for leading the development and maintenance of Product Observability across all Payments divisions.In this role, you will lead Payments Observability as a product, partnering with business and engineering teams across Payments to strengthen customer support and service reliability. You will own and maintain the observability product roadmap and backlog, prioritize initiatives based on stakeholder needs and business objectives, and ensure alignment with U.S. Bank’s enterprise observability strategy. You will also collaborate with Payments teams to develop actionable plans that enhance observability capabilities and provide guidance on the activities necessary to achieve observability goals across the Payments organization.ResponsibilitiesDefine and execute the observability and reliability product roadmap.Partner with engineering, SRE, operations, and business teams to improve service reliability and customer experience.Establish and track key reliability metrics, performance goals, and service health indicators.Prioritize initiatives based on customer impact, operational risk, and business value.Drive adoption of monitoring, alerting, dashboarding, and observability best practices.Analyze incidents, trends, and performance data to identify improvement opportunities.Create executive and operational reporting on platform health and customer journeys.Lead cross-functional stakeholders to deliver resilient, scalable payment solutions.Basic Qualifications-Technical Product Management experienceRequired SkillsProduct Management experience supporting technology, platform, infrastructure, or reliability-focused products. Including the ability to support product strategy, vision, and roadmap development.Strong understanding of Observability, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), and service health monitoring.Expertise in agile development practices and frameworks including Scrum and Kanban.Strong knowledge of project management and issue-tracking tools, such as Jira.Experience with IT service management tools including ServiceNow.Ability to translate business needs into technical product requirements and priorities.Skill in writing clear product requirements, user stories, nonfunctional requirements, and measurable acceptance criteria.Experience defining KPIs, OKRs, adoption measures, and outcome metrics to evaluate product performance and business value.Strong stakeholder management, communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.Preferred Skills:Experience gathering user feedback, identifying pain points and mapping customer journeys to guide product decisions.Experience with product budgeting, forecasting, vendor costs, licensing, and investment planning.Ability to identify cross-team dependencies, sequence work, manage delivery risks, and coordinate releases across multiple technology teams.Working knowledge of cloud platforms, APIs, distributed systems, CI/CD, infrastructure, and modern application architectures.Experience using incident reviews and operational metrics to drive continuous improvement.Location expectationsThis role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.If there’s anything we can do to accommodate a disability during any portion of the application or hiring process, please refer to our disability accommodations for applicants.Benefits:Our approach to benefits and total rewards considers our team members’ whole selves and what may be needed to thrive in and outside work.
