Position Overview

MinuteClinic is seeking an experienced Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) to provide evidence-based primary and family healthcare to patients in Frederick, Maryland.

The Nurse Practitioner will collaborate with a dedicated clinical care team to assess, diagnose, treat, and manage patient health conditions while providing health counseling, chronic disease management, and comprehensive follow-up care.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-based primary and family healthcare, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and health counseling.

• Evaluate and treat patients for injuries, illnesses, and chronic health conditions.

• Perform routine examinations, health screenings, and diagnostic testing.

• Develop and coordinate comprehensive patient care plans with other healthcare professionals.

• Educate patients on healthy lifestyle choices and encourage active participation in their healthcare.

• Support chronic condition management, behavioral health, and wellness services.

• Manage patient appointments and follow-up activities.

• Verify insurance, collect payments, and perform other administrative clinic duties.

• Assist with clinic opening/closing, inventory, and maintaining a clean clinical environment.

• Work autonomously while collaborating with the clinical care team.

• Apply quality measurement principles to chronic disease management.

✅ Required Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent Primary Care experience as a Nurse Practitioner in:

  • Family medicine

  • Primary care

  • Urgent care

• Master's degree from a Family Nurse Practitioner program .

• Current national board certification.

• Current NP license in the state of employment.

• NP license must be in good standing with no current or prior disciplinary actions .

• Strong clinical judgment, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to practice autonomously and work effectively without direct supervision.

• Proficiency with electronic medical systems and healthcare technology.

• Willingness to obtain additional/multi-state licensure as needed.

Required Documentation

• BLS certification required from American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross (ARC) .

• Candidates must provide documentation/screenshots of their BLS certification and NP license .

• DEA registration may be required during onboarding.

• Candidates must indicate whether they are able to participate in an on-call rotation , if required.

️ Schedule

• Training: 4 weeks, 40 hours/week.

• After training: 35 hours/week, including weekend coverage.

• Unless otherwise noted, the position may require working 3 out of every 6 weekends , with possible holiday rotations.

• An on-call rotation may be required.

Work Environment

This is an in-person, patient-facing position. MinuteClinic Nurse Practitioners work alongside a dedicated clinical care team to provide comprehensive care to a panel of patients.
