Job Overview
The Medical Director plays a crucial role in managing and supervising all medical services and ensuring the quality of care provided at the center. This position is essential for the smooth operation of daily activities within the facility, collaborating closely with clinic personnel to guarantee a high standard of patient care. Additionally, the Medical Director is responsible for delivering medical services to patients and overseeing the performance of group providers, analyzing outcomes, and offering constructive feedback.

Leads various initiatives related to medical care delivery and clinical services, including cost management, utilization review, and quality assurance.
Collaborates on the creation and regular updates of clinical policies, guidelines, and protocols that govern clinic operations and clinician responsibilities.
Supervises risk coding and ensures completion of HEDIS quality metrics by group providers, providing necessary feedback.
Engages in the recruitment and selection of medical providers and other clinic personnel.
Plans, assigns, and directs tasks; evaluates and assesses the performance of providers.
Takes responsibility for the quality of medical services provided to patients by monitoring care quality and appropriateness.
Offers guidance and leadership regarding performance standards.
Oversees clinical peer review processes.
Supervises continuing professional education, in-service training, and the orientation of new medical staff.
Contributes significantly to the formulation of care delivery policies and procedures.
Manages documentation and care planning activities.
Conducts regular reviews of practice management functions.
Addresses urgent issues as they arise.
Ensures high standards of medical care by reviewing patient satisfaction survey results and addressing clinical patient complaints.
Maintains compliance with OSHA, ACHA, emergency preparedness, infection control, and other regulatory standards for the clinic.
Supports provider education, in-service training, and the orientation of new medical staff.
Provides professional oversight for advanced practice nurses (ARNP) and/or physician assistants (PAs) under collaboration agreements.
Manages issues related to provider behavior and impairment.
Analyzes and develops improvement plans for adverse events and patient complaints arising from medical care.
Leads physician governance committees, including the Medical Records Quality Committee, Infection Diseases Committee, and Adverse Events Committee.
Participates in and leads future development initiatives for the organization.
Provides direct patient care within the clinic's scope of practice.
Performs additional duties as assigned by the executive team.
This role oversees all department employees and is accountable for their performance management and hiring processes.
Required EducationMD or DO degree from an accredited medical institution.
A minimum of 2 years as a primary care physician and at least 1 year in a Medical Director role.
At least 2 years of experience working with a diverse patient population, delivering high-quality, cost-effective patient-centric programs.
An unrestricted medical license in the relevant state.
Board certification in one of the primary care specialties.
A combination of education, training, and experience that demonstrates the ability to fulfill the responsibilities outlined, including relevant work experience.
