Welder / Fabricator – Waukegan, IL | $25-$30/hr | 1st Shift | New Facility Opening Soon! Join Now and Be Part of the Move to a Brand-New Facility!

We're hiring experienced Welders/Fabricators to join a growing structural steel team. While the position will initially be based in Waukegan, IL, the entire operation is relocating to a brand-new, state-of-the-art facility in Pleasant Prairie, WI within the next 4-6 months .

• $25.00 - $30.00/hr based on experience
• Weekly Pay
• Consistent overtime available

1st Shift

• Monday-Friday
• 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM
• Frequent overtime until 3:30 PM or 4:30 PM
• Typically 6-hour shifts on Saturdays

Average 45-50 hours per week

You'll begin working at the current Waukegan location while the company completes its transition to a brand-new manufacturing facility in Pleasant Prairie, WI .

The current shop is older and can be cold during the winter months, but the new facility will offer a significantly improved work environment with updated equipment and modern amenities.

You'll fabricate custom structural steel and ornamental metal projects—not repetitive production welding—allowing you to use your skills every day.

• Perform MIG and Flux Core welding on structural steel and fabricated assemblies
• Fit and fabricate structural steel and ornamental metal components
• Read and interpret structural and architectural blueprints
• Lay out structural members including wide flange beams, HSS tubing, and pipe
• Grind, finish, and inspect completed weldments
• Perform structural fabrication with minimal supervision
• Maintain quality and safety standards throughout the fabrication process

• MIG welding experience
• 4+ years of structural welding or fabrication experience
• Ability to read blueprints and fabrication drawings
• Experience fitting structural steel
• Strong measuring and layout skills
• Willingness to work in the Waukegan facility for approximately 4-6 months before relocating to the new Pleasant Prairie facility

• Flux Core welding experience
• SMAW (Stick) welding experience
• Experience with ornamental steel or aluminum fabrication
• Experience laying out structural members such as wide flange beams, HSS tubing, and pipe
