Respiratory Therapist – CONTINUOUS (260003SU) This is an open and continuous posting for part‑time, 24‑ and 36‑hour positions working 12‑hour shifts for day and night schedules. Schedule 12‑hour shifts, days off assigned; weekend coverage required (every 3rd weekend). Duties and Responsibilities Administers pharmacologic, diagnostic, and therapeutic agents related to respiratory care procedures. Observes and monitors signs and symptoms, general behavior, and physical response to respiratory care treatment and diagnostic testing. Collaborates with the healthcare team to develop and implement an appropriate care plan based on patient assessment. Promotes continuous learning and collaborates as a member of a self‑directed team. Works efficiently as a team member within and across clinical settings to provide quality service to hospital units. Demonstrates competence to meet age‑specific patient needs in a specialty area. Maintains accurate prescribed patient records and documentation such as progress, quarterly and annual notes, and META records. Provides information to appropriate personnel during meetings and shift changes to ensure consistency of care. Participates in training sessions, staff meetings, and educational seminars to enhance job skills and knowledge. Required Qualifications A current and valid license as a Respiratory Therapist issued by the Massachusetts Board of Respiratory Care. Knowledge of respiratory care principles and practices. Effective communication with staff and patients. Critical thinking and the ability to handle moderately complex issues. Understanding of emergency medical procedures and their application. Ability to remain calm, act quickly, and exercise sound judgment in emergencies. Information gathering through interaction and examination of records. Establishes rapport and communicates effectively with diverse groups. Computer proficiency for accurate patient data entry. Responsive to patient needs and treatment responses. Preferred Qualifications Experience delivering care to complex patient populations, including acute chronic conditions, behavioral and mental health illnesses, and inmates.
