HR Generalist Full Time Salary Sioux Falls, SD, US 2 days ago Requisition ID: 1037 Salary Range: $60,000.00 To $75,000.00 Annually Human Resources Generalist Position Summary Landscape Garden Centers is seeking a hands-on Human Resources Generalist with strong recruiting expertise to support our growing, field-based workforce. This role leads full-cycle recruiting and provides day-to-day HR support across the organization, ensuring we attract, hire, and retain great people who thrive in our fast-paced, outdoor, and team-oriented environment. This is a working HR role, ideal for someone who enjoys balancing strategic improvements with daily execution, and who is energized by supporting employees across retail, field operations, and administrative teams. Key Responsibilities Recruiting & Workforce Development (Primary Focus) Lead full-cycle recruiting for all roles (field, retail, administrative, and seasonal). Partner with hiring managers to define staffing needs and role requirements. Create and manage job postings across platforms (Indeed, social media, community networks). Screen, interview, and evaluate candidates for skills, experience, and cultural fit. Build and maintain a year-round pipeline for seasonal and full-time positions. Support internship, seasonal hiring, and workforce development initiatives. Oversee the H2 Seasonal Worker Immigration process. Strengthen employer branding and improve recruiting processes. Human Resources Operations Administer HR policies, procedures, and employee programs. Maintain accurate employee records, documentation, and HR systems. Coordinate onboarding, new hire orientation, and early engagement. Support performance management and employee development processes. Assist with employee relations, conflict resolution, and coaching conversations. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws. Compensation, Benefits & Compliance Support benefits administration and employee communication. Assist with compensation planning and market benchmarking. Maintain and update the employee handbook and HR policies. Ensure compliance with OSHA, safety standards, and labor regulations. Process Improvement & Reporting Identify opportunities to improve hiring, retention, and HR workflows. Track and report key HR metrics, including: hiring timelines turnover retention Recommend and implement practical HR solutions aligned with company goals. Qualifications Required 3–7+ years of HR experience, preferably in: landscaping, construction, retail, or other field-based/blue collar industries Strong experience in recruiting and hiring across multiple role types. Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices. Ability to operate independently and manage multiple priorities. Strong communication, relationship-building, and interpersonal skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and recruiting platforms. Preferred Bilingual in Spanish and English Proficiency in ADP Workforce Now Bachelor's degree in human resources or related field. Experience with seasonal or high-volume hiring. Experience supporting field-based/blue collar teams. Practical problem solver with a focus on execution. Self directed with a strong sense of ownership and accountability. Comfortable working with field employees and leadership. Organized, detail-oriented, and able to manage competing priorities. Professional, discreet, and able to handle sensitive situations. Results-driven with a continuous improvement mindset. Work Environment & Physical Requirements Mostly working in an office environment Occasional early mornings, evenings, and weekends during peak seasons.
