Accounts Payable Manager

Our client is a real estate firm. They seek an Accounts Payable Manager to join their Manhattan, NY office.

Responsibilities

• Lead the accounts payable function, overseeing invoice processing, payment workflows, vendor management, and AP operations
• Manage a team of AP professionals, providing guidance, training, performance feedback, and process oversight
• Oversee high-volume invoice processing, approvals, payment runs, ACH transactions, and vendor reconciliations
• Establish AP policies, procedures, and internal controls to improve accuracy, efficiency, and compliance
• Partner with Accounting, Procurement, Operations, and business leaders to resolve issues and streamline workflows
• Review AP aging, accruals, account reconciliations, and reporting to support month-end and year-end close processes
• Monitor vendor relationships, payment activity, tax documentation, and compliance requirements

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
• 7+ years of accounts payable or accounting experience with prior leadership or management responsibilities
• Experience managing AP operations within a high-volume corporate, real estate, construction, or investment environment
• Strong knowledge of invoice processing, payment controls, vendor management, and accounting workflows
• Experience with ERP systems such as Yardi, NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, or similar platforms
• Advanced Excel skills with experience analyzing AP data, reconciliations, and operational metrics
• Proven ability to lead teams, improve processes, and implement scalable AP solutions
• Strong understanding of internal controls, audit support, and month-end close procedures
