Apprentice B LinemanThe Apprentice B Lineman is your first step to a rewarding career in the construction and maintenance of our nation's Power Grid. You will report to the Foreman.Essential FunctionsPerform new construction, maintain and repair de ? energized powerlines while putting safety first.Help install and repair overhead transmission lines, poles, insulators, conductors and related hardware.You will perform rigorous physical labor and regularly lift heavy tools and equipment.Maintain company vehicles, equipment and tools in good work order.Work outdoors in varying environmental conditions, including extreme heat, cold, rain, wind, and inclement weather.Available to work outages, storms, emergencies including on call rotation.Inspect rubber goods and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).Follow all safety protocols and understand when to wear Personal Protective Equipment.Minimum RequirementsValid Driver's License and ability to obtain a valid Commercial Driver's License (CDL) within 60 days.Willingness to travel long distances on short notice.Lift, carry, push, or pull materials and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.Work for extended periods at different job locations, including out ? of ? state assignments.Willing to work outside of normal business hours, including weekends, holidays, emergency callouts, and overtime.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the responsibilities of this job, you will be required to talk, listen and use hand signals to communicate. The job frequently requires you to stand; walk; use hands and fingers to handle objects, operate tools or controls; reach with hands and arms.Work EnvironmentWhile performing the responsibilities of this job, you are frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. You are occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at construction job sites. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
