• Department: Med Surg - Neuro (Days)
• Schedule: Full-time, Day Shift available
• Shifts: 7 AM to 7 PM, with varying days, every third weekend, and holiday requirements; no on-call duties.

The role involves delivering direct nursing care in line with the established policies, procedures, and protocols of our healthcare organization.

• Utilize medical-surgical nursing standards to enhance the quality of care and life for patients, families, and significant others by systematically assessing the effectiveness of nursing practices.
• Build effective relationships and advocate for patients and their families to create personalized care plans that address unique needs.
• Employ the nursing process to formulate and execute care plans, gather assessment data, establish nursing diagnoses, identify expected outcomes, implement interventions, and evaluate results.
• Develop assessment and management strategies considering various dimensions of human responses to health issues, including physical, cultural, social, and spiritual aspects.
• Demonstrate understanding of how actual or potential illnesses affect each patient's overall status.
• Exhibit leadership by coordinating with patients, families, communities, and the interprofessional team to assess needs, set goals, plan interventions, provide care, and evaluate outcomes.
• Engage in effective communication with patients, families, and healthcare providers to ensure culturally sensitive, ethical, and compassionate care within available resources.
• Educate patients and families on health promotion, maintenance, and comfort measures.
• Encourage a healthy work environment by mentoring and serving as a role model for nursing colleagues and students.
• Apply evidence-based practices and scientific knowledge to ensure nursing care meets age-specific and clinical needs as outlined in the department's Scope of Service.
• Maintain a constant state of alertness and safety.
• May conduct point-of-care testing in accordance with policies and procedures.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

• Education: Graduate from an accredited nursing school or equivalent educational background for licensing.
• Experience: Minimum of one year as a registered nurse.

• Regularly use speech for oral communication.
• Frequent standing and walking.
• Occasional lifting/carrying and pushing/pulling objects weighing 25-50 lbs.
• Frequent sitting, reaching, and data entry.
• Regularly use vision for near and far distances and to distinguish colors.
• Frequent use of smell and hearing for communication and detecting alarms.
• Occasional driving, bending, stooping, kneeling, and other physical movements.
