Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) - Travel Job

We're hiring an experienced Registered Respiratory Therapist for a hospital in Portland, ME where you will be responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of patients with breathing disorders. This role serves a tertiary, teaching hospital and level 1 trauma center and involves care across adult and pediatric populations, including acute, critical care, ED, and occasional NICU/PICU coverage.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Associate or bachelor's degree in Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science.
• Current state RRT license in good standing.
• Minimum 3 years of respiratory therapist experience, including acute and critical care settings. (Client requires 3+ years.)
• Experience in a tertiary, teaching hospital or level 1 trauma center.
• Required certifications: BLS and RRT. NRP for NICU required for NICU assignments. ACLS preferred.
• Experience with mechanical ventilators and advanced respiratory equipment, including Drager V500/VN500, Hamilton T1/C1, Respironics V30/V60, Trilogy line, Airvo, and Vapotherm.
• Experience with EPIC or similar EMR preferred.

Preferred Qualifications:

• NICU/PICU and cardiothoracic experience preferred.
• Experience working with a team covering multiple units or campus-wide respiratory services.
• Flexible, team-oriented communication style suited to a fast-paced teaching hospital.

Assignment Details

• Shift hours: 1900-0700.
• Weekly guaranteed hours: 36.
• Weekend hours: 36 (unless otherwise noted).
• Call requirement: yes; 2 hours for the oncoming shift.
• Float requirements: must be willing to float to cover NICU/PICU, acute pediatrics, ED, adult acute and critical care.
