Job Description
Job Title: Emergency Department Registered Nurse

Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIH, PALS, TNCC
Must-Have: TNCC must be completed prior to submission


Description:
Travelers should expect that their assignments will include primarily admitted patients.
No RQI certifications accepted.
Travel experience is strongly preferred; however, candidates with 2+ years of Level 1 experience may be considered.
Approximately 60%-80% of the Emergency Department consists of admitted patients.
Many of the ED rooms are designated as ED Holding.
Level 1 trauma experience is preferred.
Currently seeing an increased number of admit holds.
Medication administration, including IV medication, must be performed following the seven medication rights.
Documenting and communicating clinical findings is essential.
Patient ratios are expected to be 1:5.
Travelers will be scheduled for weekends as needed.
Weekend days include Saturday and Sunday; weekend nights are considered Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Floating to adult PCUs is an expectation based on staffing needs; floating to Peds ED is optional.
This includes potential floating to ED Holding and Trauma.
Specialty training, such as Trauma and Triage, may be required to staff specific areas.
Bar Code Medication scanning is necessary for all employees.
Travelers must comply with required documents within a specified timeline.
Drug screening must be completed within a set timeframe prior to the start of the assignment.
RTO must be managed within the specified limitations.
No travelers are accepted from within a 100-mile radius.
Licensure and certifications may pend at submission.
Experience in trauma/resuscitation is preferred.
Travelers without certain certifications will need to complete training during orientation.
A structured break from the system is required after consecutive assignments.
