Saw Operator 2nd Shift

Job Title

Ability to work in the shift: Monday-Thursday 3PM-1:30AM occasionally overtime.

Major Areas of Responsibility

Major areas of responsibility include, but are not limited to:

• Safety minded in all work activities; suggest and recommend safety initiatives; commitment to safe work habits.
• Reading and understanding the specifics of the job order instructions for individual customer orders.
• Selecting the correct materials and quantity of materials for individual customer orders.
• Ensuring that work instructions are followed precisely to successfully complete the door package.
• Understanding daily production goals and work at a pace that meets or exceeds those requirements.
• Inspecting raw materials to ensure no pre-existing damage or scratches due to defective incoming materials prior to machining.
• Fabricating parts to precise dimension by using machine tools.
• Selecting pre-set CNC programs that will accomplish the tasks indicated on the customer orders.
• Other duties as assigned by the Production Supervisor and/or Production Manager.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

This position requires the following essential knowledge, skills and abilities in order to satisfactorily fulfil the role:

• The ability to use basic mathematics including fractions for measuring, cutting and calculating lengths and widths of materials.
• Detailed oriented using fine visual and manual skills.
• The ability to use a variety of hand tools, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring instruments.
• The ability to use punch presses.
• The ability work in a fast-paced environment for an extended period of time.
• The ability to read and understand layouts, shop orders and process control documents.
