Join The FamilyCome work for an exciting company offering great benefits, challenging opportunities, and colleagues who feel more like family.Job SummaryThe Mix Plant Operator will be responsible for the safe, productive manufacturing processes within our booster department including, but not limited to, following all written work instruction and operating procedures related to the areas packaging and handling of explosive products; inspect manufactured products for accuracy; recognize hazards within the production area; operate equipment and ensure equipment is running properly; troubleshoot and problem solve with supervisor/area lead on any technical issues as needed; obtain box truck/forklift certification within specified timeframe; operate and maintain manufacturing vehicles when needed; and any other duties as assigned by area lead, supervisor and/or department manager.Key Responsibilities and DutiesFollow Safety Protocols: Adhere to all written work instructions and operating procedures, especially those related to the packaging and handling of explosive products.Product Inspection: Inspect manufactured products for accuracy and quality.Hazard Recognition: Identify and report potential hazards within the production area.Equipment Operation: Operate manufacturing equipment and ensure it is functioning properly.Troubleshooting: Collaborate with Supervisor or Area Lead to resolve technical issues.Certification Requirements: Obtain box truck and forklift certification within the designated timeframe.Vehicle Operation: Operate and maintain manufacturing vehicles as needed.Team Collaboration: Perform additional duties as assigned by the Area Lead, Supervisor, or Department Manager.Education and ExperienceHigh school diploma or equivalentValid driver's licenseMinimum age of 18Must meet all state and federal explosive laws and qualify as an ATF explosive processor1+ years of manufacturing experience or1+ years explosive or chemical manufacturingMechanically inclinedAvailability to work various shifts and overtime on short noticeSkills, Knowledge, and RequirementsBasic Math skills (basic counting skills required)Ability to read and maintain proper documentation as required.Meet requirements of all state and federal explosive laws and qualify as an ATF explosive processor.Must be able to work in various conditions (hot/cold and wet floors)Must be able to work with minimal supervision.Availability to work various shifts as required by business demands.Must be able to work in loud work environment; hearing protection required in some areas (range of 50 – 90 decibels)Must be able to lift and carry up to 60 lbs. on a regular basis.Must be able to stand/walk up to 10 hours per day.Have high manual dexterity.Ability to work overtime when applicable.Effective written and verbal communication skillsAbility to wear work uniforms and required PPE.Ability to get fitted and wear formal respirator, half face style, as needed.Ability to work on a ladder (i.e., heightened work surface)Must be forklift certified.May have to be certified to drive box truck and semi-tractor.Must be able to operate various types of machinery and set up of machines.
