Campus Aide

The Community Charter School of Paterson is seeking Campus Aides to join our Middle School for the 2026-2027 School Year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

1. Performs crossing guard duties as necessary.
2. Monitors students at arrival and dismissal times.
3. Monitors student movements during class transitions to ensure swift, safe, and efficient movement to maximize instructional time.
4. Issues late passes.
5. Monitors student behavior in the cafeteria during meals.
6. Maintains a system for the orderly disposal of food waste and ensures the cleanliness of tables and surrounding areas.
7. Circulates among the tables during the mealtime to be available to children who need help or to resolve any minor problems that arise.
8. Monitors students during recess to ensure that students are safe interact with one another appropriately and are following all school rules.
9. Informs assigned teacher or Dean of any serious infractions of discipline rules by students.
10. Works with school personnel to assist with answering phones.
11. Works with school personnel to ensure that school mailings are prepared professionally and are sent in a timely fashion.
12. Works with school personnel to ensure that students board the bus in a timely and orderly manner.
13. Works with school personnel to welcome and document visitors.
14. Provides general maintenance as needed.
15. Ensures school cleanliness and orderliness. Assists school and custodial staff with spills and other messes as needed.
16. Provides building security as needed.
17. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of one year working with children or youth-serving organization.
• Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
• Ability to follow directions.
• Ability to keep accurate records and prepare reports.
• Available to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
• Highly organized and motivated, self-starter and ability to work independently.

The CCSP benefits package is subject to the terms outlined in the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) for members that are subject to the CBA. The benefits package for staff members that are not subject to the terms of the CBA is at the sole discretion of the Board of Trustees.
