RIGGER SUPERVISOR I

Summary You will serve as a RIGGER SUPERVISOR I in the RIGGER SHOP (72A), RIGGING, CRANE AND RIGGING OPERATIONS DIV CODE 220, LIFTING AND HANDLING DEPARTMENT CODE 200 of TRIREFFAC KINGS BAY. Duties You will be responsible for effective rigging teams during external crane lifts and the internal removal, reinstallation, and positioning of large and heavy shipboard components of various sizes and shapes. You will be responsible for selecting the best personnel, planning, oversight, and technical work direction of combined rigging personnel to ensure safe damage free handling of shipboard equipment, material and components. You will provide first line supervision over a diverse shop workforce comprised of Riggers of various levels. You will provide administrative management over shop operations including time keeping. You will determine training, safety and occupational health, facility/equipment maintenance, quality of work, flow of materials, and sequence of operations. Requirements Must be a US Citizen. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Qualifications Although a specific length of time and experience is not required for most trade and labor occupations, you must show through experience and training that you possess the quality level of knowledge and skill necessary to perform the duties of the position at the level for which you are applying. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAVE OR SUPERVISE Experience directing complex internal and external submarine rigging operations, calculating critical load centers of gravity and executing Technical Work Documents. Experience providing technical work direction or leadership to a team of riggers in a heavy industrial maritime environment. Experience providing administrative management over shop operations, establishing inter-shop policies and procedures, and coordinating the attainment of all require shop technical licenses and certifications.
