Overview The Analyst of Clinical Operations Business Intelligence (COBI) facilitates knowledge management efforts to redesign care processes, optimize value, and deliver reliable, actionable insights through analytics dashboards. The analyst assesses and diagnoses problems, architects data analytics, and develops performance dashboards to manage structured improvement initiatives ranging from transformational projects to focused analytics development events. The role also functions as a coach, helping teams sustain performance after project completion and building collaborative relationships with physicians, nurses, clinicians, and administrators to champion change and sustainability efforts. Key Responsibilities Design and develop knowledge management tools based on business and clinical requirements to improve value aligned with organizational goals. Develop solutions that embed and extract relevant patient information into and from health information systems to provide effective communication supporting quality, process improvement, and operations initiatives in clinical care, program development, and training. Apply engineering and data science principles and concepts in planning, coordinating, and executing operational and research activities. Provide data science expertise to support data‑driven decision making. Perform analysis to produce meaningful insights and actionable recommendations to track clinical operations performance at all levels using evidence‑based benchmarking identified by key performance indicators. Socialize tools and initiatives across the health system. Provide cost modeling, capacity planning, and other services related to daily operations and clinical program growth. Update and maintain hospital reports and presentations by coordinating data collection and report production. Develop collaborative relationships with physicians, administrative leaders, and frontline staff to aid their understanding of data and plan improvements to clinical operations. Plan projects by creating detailed work plans with timelines, milestones, objectives, and targets aligned with resources and organizational strategy. Implement planned projects in consultation with leadership and stakeholders, ensuring confidentiality and proper maintenance. Control projects by maintaining alignment with organizational policies, procedures, and regulatory compliance standards. Analyze and manage risks and issues associated with technical operations across programs and medical technology project implementations. Recommend and/or implement methods and techniques to address engineering, management, and regulatory requirements for the use of medical data. Evaluate projects to ensure deliverables are on time, within budget, and meet quality requirements by tracking process and outcome measures to targets. Conduct assessments and collect data to support department initiatives; audit compliance with new policies, protocols, and practices. Develop ROI formulas and calculations to measure project impact. Prepare performance reports and complete administrative details of the position. Perform data collection and entry processes. Recommend and utilize methods for data acquisition, management, and quality control. Apply statistical techniques for data analysis. Resolve problems, answer questions, and provide information to facilitate processes. Use standard statistical analysis software. Perform other related duties as assigned or requested. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer engineering, or data science. 1‑2 years of experience in business/data analytics, healthcare analytics, healthcare quality, or clinical and operations decision support. Working knowledge of back‑end databases (relational designs), spreadsheets, word processing, statistical software, analytical models, data science principles and application, and data visualization programs (Tableau, Qlikview/Qliksense, Power BI). Knowledge of business (operational, clinical, and financial) statistics and data analysis techniques. Expert knowledge in Python, R, and/or SQL programming. Ability to manage, analyze, and derive clinical and operational insights from health system information technologies. Strong analytical thinking and problem‑solving skills. Demonstrated leadership capabilities, including developing constructive working relationships with operational and clinical partners, excellent interpersonal skills, relationship‑driven teamwork, and the ability to lead process improvement initiatives. Proficiency in presenting technical materials to non‑technical audiences and familiarity with business intelligence tools, technology platforms, and related systems. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree in Health Administration, Nursing, Industrial Engineering, Analytics, or related field. Experience in data science, including machine learning approaches to produce predictive models. Proficiency in statistical approaches. Master level expertise in data visualization platforms such as Qlikview and Tableau. Salary The annual base salary range for this position is $81,120.00 - $133,010.00.
