Cardiothoracic Surgeon

Jackson and Coker is seeking an experienced Cardiothoracic Surgeon for locums coverage at a New York health system, starting in November 2026. This opportunity involves concentrated blocks of coverage, including Thanksgiving and Christmas, with a mix of weekday in-house duties and evening, weekend, and holiday call. The role offers a chance to practice in Upstate New York, known for its outdoor recreation and charming communities.

Responsibilities

• Provide weekend call coverage with 7am rounding Saturday and Sunday
• Provide in-house coverage from 7am-4pm
• Provide evening call coverage from 4pm-7am
• Provide Thanksgiving holiday call with 7am rounding Thursday
• Provide Christmas holiday/weekend call with 7am rounding Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Round at the hospital beginning at 7am during weekend coverage, then remain on call, returning to the hospital as needed

Shift & Schedule

• Coverage beginning in November 2026
• Concentrated blocks of coverage across November and December, including Thanksgiving and Christmas
• 11/20 at 4pm - 11/23 at 7am: Weekend call with 7am rounding Saturday and Sunday
• 11/23 - 11/25: In-house coverage 7am-4pm plus evening call 4pm-7am
• 11/25 at 4pm - 11/27 at 7am: Thanksgiving holiday call with 7am rounding Thursday
• 11/27: In-house coverage 7am-4pm
• 11/27 at 4pm - 11/30 at 7am: Weekend call with 7am rounding Saturday and Sunday
• 12/18 at 4pm - 12/21 at 7am: Weekend call with 7am rounding Saturday and Sunday
• 12/21 - 12/24: In-house coverage 7am-4pm plus evening call 4pm-7am
• 12/24 at 4pm - 12/28 at 7am: Christmas holiday/weekend call with 7am rounding Friday, Saturday, and Sunday
• Monday-Friday in-house coverage is generally 7am-4pm
• Evening call runs 4pm-7am
