Respiratory Therapist

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Respiratory Therapist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in adult critical care settings and be proficient in a variety of respiratory care procedures.

Shift Details

Shift: 7 PM - 7:30 AM

Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend; may change as needed

Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory care and treatment to adult and geriatric patients.
• Perform procedures such as extubation, nasal airway placements, suctioning, and tracheostomy care.
• Administer medications via aerosol setups, including a variety of inhalers and nebulizers.
• Deliver high flow nasal cannula and trach collar oxygen therapy.
• Manage and troubleshoot BiPaP and CPAP devices, as well as mechanical ventilation weaning.
• Collect sputum specimens and ensure proper pulmonary hygiene.
• Float to other units as required, based on patient care needs.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in respiratory therapy, with Trauma Level 1 experience required.
• Must have an active RRT SC license; pending licenses are not accepted.
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
• At least 1 year of EPIC experience is required.

Skills Required

The candidate must be proficient in:

• High-pressure alarm troubleshooting
• Aerosol therapy setups
• Administering respiratory medications including albuterol, Atrovent, and others
• Experience with hand-held nebulizers, T-pieces, and trach collar nebulizers

Additional Information

All requests for time off, block scheduling, and special scheduling need to be included during the submission process. Shifts may be subject to cancellation; the facility is permitted to call off one shift every two weeks.
