Location City, State: Chicago, IL Position Overview We are seeking an experienced Interventional Radiology (IR) Registered Nurse (RN) for this dynamic opportunity. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Interventional Radiology, particularly within a Level 1 Trauma Center. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Utilize the nursing process and critical thinking in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Perform thorough patient assessments, develop care plans, execute interventions, and evaluate patient outcomes.
- Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing protocols, policies, and state regulations.
- Ensure accurate and comprehensive documentation in accordance with established standards of care.
- Develop and initiate individualized patient care plans as prescribed by physicians and hospital policies.
- Utilize resources to educate and support patients and their families, tailoring information to meet their understanding.
- Participate in departmental performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance initiatives.
- Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units or departments to support the patient's overall care plan.
- Effectively manage complex situations, ensuring patient safety and quality experience, while appropriately delegating tasks to staff.
- Engage in personal and professional development, supporting continuous learning and growth opportunities.
- Participate in peer review and feedback opportunities to foster a supportive work environment.
- Maintain workflow efficiency in clinic and ambulatory settings, respond to patient inquiries, and perform telephone triage as necessary.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- A minimum of three years of RN experience, with at least one year in a critical care setting is required.
- Experience in cardiovascular interventions is essential.
- Active RN licensure in Illinois.
- Current certifications in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and National Institute of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS).
- Successful completion of an EKG test prior to the end of orientation.
