Employee ownership opportunities that build long‑term value Annual discretionary performance bonuses 401(k) with company match Industry‑leading medical, dental and vision benefits Prescription drug coverage and telemedicine services Life, AD&D and disability insurance Paid parental leave and family care support HSA or FSA for healthcare, dependent care and transportation Mental health and wellness support, including Employee Assistance Programs Career growth pathways, leadership development and mentorship programs Access to world‑class training through PCL’s College of Construction and professional development courses Ongoing opportunities to learn new skills, explore different roles and grow your career across sectors and regions Key Responsibilities Supports accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure accurate and timely financial transactions Assists with month‑end and year‑end close activities, helping maintain reliable financial reporting Partners with project teams to provide financial tracking, cost support, and project‑based accounting insights Prepares and supports internal and external financial reports in alignment with company standards Participates in audit processes by gathering documentation and ensuring compliance with internal controls Maintains accurate financial records and contributes to process improvements across accounting functions Applies strong Excel skills to analyze data, track performance, and improve reporting efficiency Provides support and guidance to team members, with the ability to serve as a mentor or resource as needed Builds strong working relationships across finance and operations through effective communication and collaboration Supports compliance with tax requirements, including exposure to sales and use tax practices Performs general accounting and administrative functions to meet contractual requirements for operational and basic accounting for large projects Completes and reviews all financial transactions in a timely and accurate manner Provides project teams with ad‑hoc reports and analysis as the need arises Assembles information for internal and external financial reporting requirements Prepares bank deposits, monthly reconciliations, and cash receipt entries Identifies any irregularities or risk exposure and supports the development of a strategy to address them Communicates to project team and accounting management any compliance and project risks and assists with risk mitigation Assembles client billings packages in accordance with contract terms and conditions and ensures timely payment Reviews contracts and interprets trade partner documentation for accounting‑related items and assists with project setup procedures Supervises, mentors and coaches entry‑level accounting staff Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required Graduate degree or pursuit of CPA designation is a strong asset Familiarity with month‑end and year‑end close processes Familiarity with internal and external financial reporting Familiarity with audit procedures Familiarity with sales and use tax is a strong plus Active pursuit of accounting designation considered an asset 3‑5 years of accounting experience in construction or a related industry preferred Advanced understanding of full‑cycle accounting and project forecasting and budgeting Intermediate knowledge of government legislation and generally accepted accounting principles Intermediate knowledge of project costing principles, recoveries, insurance, and contract/subcontract requirements as related to accounting Understand and complies with all labor agreements, government legislation, and PCL policies and procedures Intermediate understanding of owner contracts as they relate to payment terms, billing requirements, audit rights, and cost‑of‑work definition, insurance, and bonding Exhibits strong management skills, with the ability to delegate and coordinate activities and lead and motivate employees Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and experience with accounting software Your Work Has Purpose Here PCL projects are where life happens, where communities connect, careers begin, and progress is made.
