Certified Medical Assistant

BHMG Primary Care – Lancaster, KY The Medical Assistant provides direct patient care and clinical support within an outpatient clinic. Responsibilities Obtain vital signs, reconcile medications, collect patient history, and facilitate patient flow. Maintain and update the electronic health record (EPIC). Schedule appointments, process medication requests, handle prior authorizations, and coordinate laboratory and diagnostic tests. After successful clinical competency, perform EKGs, lab tests, injections, and phlebotomy as needed. Support providers and maintain efficient patient care through strong communication and organizational skills. Qualifications High School Diploma or General Education Equivalency and at least 1 year of experience as a Medical Assistant in a medical office, clinic, or similar setting. Direct, hands‑on patient care experience that includes obtaining vital signs, documenting patient history and medications, and performing clinical procedures (e.g., EKGs, phlebotomy, administering injections or vaccines). Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant training program with hands‑on clinical experience (required). Graduate of an accredited LPN or RN program with current unrestricted licensure (preferred). Current Medical Assistant Certification from AAMA, AMT, NAHP, NCCT, or AAMP (preferred). Basic computer skills and experience with an EMR system. Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire. BAT and DOT certifications required for Occupational Medicine within 90 days of hire. Successful completion of a clinical competency assessment and MA orientation upon hire. Those who do not meet the required standards will be enrolled in the Medical Assistant Trainee Program.
