Details Progressive Care Unit (PCU)/Stepdown setting at a teaching hospital Cardiac telemetry patient population with continuous monitoring Night shift schedule (3x12-hour shifts, 19:00-07:30), rotating or straight nights 36 hours per week, weekdays and some weekends with rotating holidays Call required Float required within OSU system Epic charting system used Requirements Active RN license, must be Ohio state or compact license in hand at time of consideration Current BLS and ACLS certification required Minimum 1 year of RN experience required, with PCU experience preferred Teaching hospital experience required Trauma Level I or II experience preferred Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program Skilled in respiratory care including BiPAP/CPAP management, ventilated patient care, tracheostomy management, and ABG interpretation Experience with IV therapy, blood product administration, central and PICC line care Experience with cardiac drip titration, heparin protocols, and dysrhythmia management/interpretation Experience with IV insulin protocols and pre/post hemodialysis management Two professional references required, with at least one from a manager or director-level supervisor; charge RN acceptable as second reference; coworker references not accepted Additional Information Responsible for cardiac monitoring, emergency response, and use of rapid response/code teams Manage patients requiring isolation precautions and PPE protocols Provide care for patients with renal failure and endocrine/metabolic needs First-time travelers are welcome to apply Locals accepted at the same rate Former employees eligible for a travel assignment after being away from the facility for 6 months or more Current employees are ineligible to be hired as a traveler at any Ohio State University hospital location RTO must be submitted with the application and built into the contract, limited to 7 days or less Ohio fingerprinting process must be completed urgently upon signing contract due to strict compliance deadlines American Traveler Job ID P-763793.
