License: Active New Hampshire license required

Certifications: BLS (AHA), IV certification (must be willing to obtain during onboarding)

Must-Have: Candidates must have their own transportation as this facility is in a rural area with limited housing options and public transportation.

Description: This position requires the observation of each resident on a continuing basis. You will need to alert the Supervisor to changes in residents' mental and physical well-being. It is essential to notify the physician when necessary and provide a detailed report to the oncoming shift about each resident's status and events of the shift. You will accurately receive, transcribe, and carry out physician's orders. Administer medications and treatments as ordered and make proper documentation via a computerized system. Order and maintain all pharmaceuticals for the unit. You will supervise nursing assistants in accordance with licensing requirements. Assign and measure nursing staff's resident care consistent with their abilities, job description, and scope of practice. Assist direct-care staff with nursing care as necessary and as time allows. Accompany physicians on resident rounds to address medical needs and facilitate communication. Administer oxygen in accordance with facility guidelines and procedures. Provide gastrostomy or jejunostomy feedings as per policy. Perform wound care and have knowledge of wound vacs. Conduct regular duties such as checking appointments for the day and reminding staff of ambulation lists and document nutritional charts. Monitor nursing assistant documentation and ensure infection control practices are followed. Report any problems to the Nurse Manager or Nursing Supervisor following the chain of command. Communicate with residents' families to resolve concerns and notify them of new orders. Receive incoming calls and determine the required response. Assume responsibility for managing assigned units during your shift under the direction of the Nursing Supervisor. Follow regulations regarding the storage, usage, and documentation of medications. Assist with the orientation of new nursing employees. Communicate with management regarding continuing education needs of the staff and assist in delivering staff education and training as needed. Encourage and assign staff to attend in-service education meetings. Evaluate assigned nursing staff members according to facility policy and procedure. Initiate or recommend disciplinary action as necessary.
