Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver patient care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care in a hospital setting
• Demonstrate competence in care of patients with complex problems, addressing physical, psychosocial, educational, and safety aspects of care
• Collaborate with patient, family, and interdisciplinary team members to prepare and update individualized plans of care
• Assess and anticipate discharge needs of individual patients and families, consulting appropriate resources for complex care issues
• Perform bedside point-of-care testing as required and adhere to nursing standards, policies, and procedures in delivery of care
• Participate in unit goal development, performance improvement activities, and cost-effective care initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of progressive care unit (PCU/IMC/Stepdown) nursing experience
• Active Registered Nurse license in the state of North Carolina
• Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification from AHA or ARC
• Nursing Diploma, ADN, or ASN from an accredited school of nursing

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN or MSN from an accredited school of nursing
• Experience utilizing multidisciplinary resources and communication systems in a complex hospital environment
