We are seeking an experienced  CNC Turn Machinist to join our growing manufacturing team. This role is responsible for operating and setting up three or more CNC machines while ensuring parts are produced accurately and according to print specifications.

The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented problem solver with strong CNC setup and troubleshooting skills, excellent time management, and the ability to work independently. This position also provides an opportunity to lead by example and train less-experienced machinists.

Key Responsibilities

• Load and unload CNC machines and materials.
• Perform complex CNC machine setups independently.
• Operate three or more machines while maintaining production and quality standards.
• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical specifications.
• Use calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision measuring tools.
• Monitor machines and perform regular quality checks.
• Troubleshoot tooling issues and make CNC offset adjustments.
• Edit CNC programs to meet part specifications.
• Prove out new or untested programs.
• Create and revise setup sheets and documentation.
• Perform basic machine maintenance and minor repairs.
• Recover machines following minor faults or crashes.
• Work with Programming and Engineering teams to resolve machining and production issues.
• Train and support entry-level machinists on machine setup and operation.
• Follow all safety, quality, and production procedures.
• Support lean manufacturing and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; Machine Technology degree preferred.
• 2–6 years of CNC machining experience, including independent machine setups.
• Experience operating CNC turning machines.
• Ability to perform complex setups with minimal supervision.
• Ability to edit CNC programs and make offset adjustments.
• Strong understanding of tooling, machining principles, and CNC operations.
• Proficiency with precision measuring instruments.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong troubleshooting and critical-thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced shop environment.
• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience preferred.
• Experience working within AS9100 quality requirements/methodologies preferred.

• Ability to stand for extended periods.
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing/shop environment.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain focus throughout the production process.
• Ability to safely handle materials, tools, and machining equipment.
