Certified Surgical Technologist

Northwest Hospital's main operating room (Main OR) provides innovative surgical services on both inpatient and outpatients. The main surgical suite consists of a new exquisite pre- and post-operative area, five operating rooms, one Cysto suite and an endoscopy suite. Northwest's operating room team also completes surgical procedures in the Northwest surgery center. The surgery center provides surgical services to outpatients. The main operating room and surgery center collectively cares for approximately 450 surgical patients a month. Patients of surgical services may require care following general or Orthopedic, urologic, gynecologic, thoracic, vascular, podiatric, cosmetic, general, endoscopic procedures. Surgical service employees provide excellent care to their patients and follow Association of Peri-Operative Registered Nurses (AORN) and American Society of Peri-Anesthesia Nursing Practice.

Summary:
As a member of the surgical team, provides technical assistance to the surgeon/physician during surgical intervention under the supervision of the RN within the Surgical Services Department. When not directly
assisting the physician in a procedure, may participate in the rendering of patient care under the direction of the Surgical Assistant Coordinator or a Registered Nurse.

Education Note:
Passage of the certifying examination administered by the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist is preferred and is required to be completed within 12 months. Licensures & Certifications:

Pay Range: $23.80 to $44.79 Based On Experience
