Security Officer-Full Time

Position Overview Sanford Health is hiring a Security Officer to patrol facility buildings and grounds, enforce policies, maintain safety, and provide assistance. The role requires 12‑hour shifts within a 14‑day cycle, including day, night, and weekend shifts. Compensation & Schedule Schedule: 12‑hour shifts, 36 weekly hours, 14‑day cycle, including weekends. Salary range: $18.75–$29.00 per hour. Responsibilities Monitor conduct of visitors, patrol and secure facility buildings and grounds. Confront unauthorized persons and report safety, fire hazards, or security violations. Respond to service requests from employees, patients/residents, and visitors. Assist in problem‑solving and escort personnel to and from parking areas. Maintain records and prepare incident reports and related documents. Prioritize calls for service by safety urgency. De‑escalate situations, maintain awareness of local laws, and keep awareness of medication areas if applicable. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (preferred). College or vocational education also preferred. Prior experience in healthcare security, contract security, or law enforcement highly preferred. Valid driver's license may be required; Sanford insurability dependent upon region. Basic certification by International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety preferred within one year of hire.
