Non-CDL Delivery Driver | Local Routes

Charleston, SC | Full-Time

Southern Lumber & Millwork is hiring a full-time Non-CDL Delivery Driver in Charleston, South Carolina. In this role, you will deliver lumber, trim, windows, doors, and other building materials to local residential construction sites throughout the Lowcountry.

No CDL is required. This is a weekday, daytime driving position with local routes, weekends and holidays off, and the ability to be home every night.

What You’ll Do

• Safely operate a non-CDL company provided delivery vehicle on local routes.
• Load and unload lumber, trim, windows, doors, and related products to jobsites throughout the Charleston area.
• Secure and handle materials properly to prevent damage during transportation.
• Confirm orders and maintain accurate delivery records and documentation.
• Provide friendly, professional customer service at each delivery location.
• Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies.
• Communicate clearly with customers, dispatchers, and team members.
• Help maintain a clean, safe, and organized lumberyard.
• Assist with warehouse, inventory, and yard duties as needed.

Qualifications

• A valid driver’s license is required.
• A CDL is not required.
• Experience safely operating, loading, and unloading delivery trucks is preferred.
• Experience delivering lumber, building materials, windows, doors, or construction supplies is a plus.
• Familiarity with Charleston and the surrounding Lowcountry, including routes from Awendaw to Kiawah Island, is preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and time-management skills.
• Customer-focused with clear and professional communication skills.
• Dependable, safety-minded, coachable, and willing to contribute as part of a team.
• Must currently live within commuting distance of Charleston, SC.

Schedule

• Full-time, approximately 40–50 hours per week
• Company Hours of Operation: Monday–Thursday: 7:00 a.m.–5:00 p.m & Friday: 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m.
• Weekday, daytime schedule
• Local delivery routes
• Home every night
• Weekends and holidays off
