Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 1 year in a similar role License: Active RN license required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Previous neuro experience is required. Large facility experience is required. Proficient in cardiac monitoring and emergency response. Experience in interpreting and managing dysrhythmias. Experience with IV therapy, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central/peripheral line care. Familiarity with accessing/managing ports and arterial line management. Experience in managing continuous IV paralytics and neuromuscular blockade. Experience with continuous IV sedation and titrating cardiac and vasoactive drips. Competency in neuro-specific care such as CVA, acute stroke management, and external ventricular drain management. Ability to manage hypothermia protocol and ICP monitoring. Experience in post-craniotomy and post-neurosurgery management. Skills in assisting with the management of BiPAP/CPAP and ventilated patients. Description: The role is for a registered nurse in the intensive care unit specializing in neuro-related cases. The nurse will be required to manage a patient ratio of 1:2. Patient diagnoses will include stroke, neurosurgery, and complex spine cases. Special procedures will involve external ventricular drains and therapeutic thermoregulation. Floating within the skill set may be required. The candidate should be able to assess and manage patients with complex neuro conditions. The nurse will participate in emergency response and manage severe patient cases. Professional collaboration with interdisciplinary teams is essential. Candidates are expected to adhere to policies and provide high-quality patient care.
