Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Controls Engineer to oversee and optimize automation and control systems within our die casting manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will design, implement, and maintain control systems to improve production efficiency, ensure safety, and support continuous process improvements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, and troubleshoot PLC, HMI, and SCADA control systems for die casting equipment and production lines.
- Collaborate with manufacturing, maintenance, and engineering teams to identify control system needs and implement solutions.
- Perform system programming, configuration, and testing to ensure optimal operation.
- Support equipment commissioning, startup, and ongoing maintenance activities.
- Develop and update control system documentation, including wiring diagrams, logic diagrams, and operational procedures.
- Conduct root cause analysis of control-related issues and implement corrective actions.
- Lead or assist in the integration of new automation technologies and equipment.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards and industry regulations related to control systems.
- Provide technical support and training to operators and maintenance personnel.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Automation, or a related field.
- Proven experience with PLC programming (Allen-Bradley, Siemens, or equivalent) and HMI/SCADA systems.
- Strong understanding of industrial control systems, sensors, actuators, and motor drives.
- Knowledge of electrical wiring, control panel design, and automation hardware.
- Experience with manufacturing processes, preferably in die casting or metal fabrication.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
Working Conditions:
- Primarily in an industrial manufacturing environment.
- Exposure to noise, dust, and varying temperatures.
- Occasional work in confined spaces or at heights.
- Support for shift work or overtime as needed.
