Job Description

This role involves operating slitter and die cutting machines to support high-volume production in a manufacturing environment. You will load materials, run equipment safely and efficiently, and perform minor troubleshooting to keep machines operating smoothly.

Responsibilities

• Operate slitter machines in accordance with established procedures and safety guidelines.
• Operate die cutting machines to produce parts and products to specified dimensions and quality standards.
• Load product and materials onto machines, ensuring correct placement and secure setup before starting operations.
• Start, stop, and control machines by pressing appropriate buttons and using control panels as instructed.
• Monitor machine operation throughout the shift to ensure consistent quality and output.
• Perform very minor troubleshooting on machines, such as clearing jams and making simple adjustments to maintain smooth operation.
• Use basic hand tools, tape measures, and calipers to check dimensions and verify product specifications.
• Assist with general production and assembly tasks as needed to support overall workflow.
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean and organized work area.
• Communicate any issues with machines, materials, or production output to the appropriate team members.

Essential Skills

• Previous machine operating experience, preferably 6 months to 1 year in a production or manufacturing environment.
• Experience operating slitter machines or die cutting machines, or similar production equipment.
• Ability to perform minor troubleshooting on machines, including basic mechanical adjustments and clearing simple faults.
• Proficiency using hand tools in a production setting.
• Ability to read and use a tape measure accurately to verify measurements.
• Ability to use calipers to measure parts and confirm specifications.
• Basic mechanical aptitude and comfort working with production machinery.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and standard operating procedures.
• Capability to perform general labor and general production tasks as part of daily responsibilities.
• Willingness to work rotating shifts and extended hours as required by the schedule.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with both slitter and die cutting machines is a plus.
• Familiarity with laser-based equipment or laser operations in a production environment is beneficial.
• Prior experience in assembly work within a manufacturing or general production setting.
• Strong attention to detail when measuring and inspecting parts.
• Ability to work both independently and as part of a production team.
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with repetitive tasks.

Work Environment

This position is based in a manufacturing facility with slitter and die cutting machines and other production equipment. The role follows a 2-2-3 rotating schedule, with day shifts running from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. for four days on, and night shifts running from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. for five days on, depending on assignment. You will work around running machinery, moving materials, and general production activities, which may involve standing for long periods, repetitive motions, and handling tools such as hand tools, tape measures, and calipers. Appropriate work attire suitable for a production floor and adherence to all safety and personal protective equipment requirements are expected.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Blythewood, SC.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $21.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Blythewood,SC.
