Agility Recruiting is partnering with an established heavy civil construction company seeking an experienced Area Manager to oversee complex, high-value construction projects throughout the Bay Area.
This is an excellent opportunity for a proven construction leader who thrives on managing large-scale projects, developing talented teams, and driving operational and financial performance.
What You'll Do
Oversee multiple heavy civil construction projects or a single large-scale project.
Lead and mentor Project Managers, Superintendents, and field teams.
Drive project profitability, scheduling, safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Manage budgets, forecasts, contracts, change orders, and project risks.
Collaborate with estimating and executive leadership on project strategy and new opportunities.
Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
What We're Looking For
15+ years of heavy civil construction experience , with increasing responsibility.
10+ years of construction team leadership experience.
Proven success managing multiple complex projects or major construction programs.
Strong understanding of construction operations, financial management, contracts, and risk mitigation.
Experience with Caltrans projects strongly preferred.
Knowledge of union and prevailing wage requirements.
Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Bachelor's degree or relevant professional certifications are a plus.
Work Location
This is a 100% on-site position based in the Concord / East Bay area. Remote and hybrid arrangements are not available. Local travel to project sites is required.
