Ancillary Computed Tomographic Scanner TechnicianLocation: White Plains, New YorkDepartment: Ancillary Computed Tomographic Scanner_6Bargaining Unit: WPH - 1199 TechWork Shift: DayWork Days: WeekendsScheduled Hours: 8 AM-8:30 PMHours Per Pay Period: 75Pay Rate/Range: $52.04 - $62.88Sign On Bonus: $10,000Work Schedule: Saturday, Sunday, Monday 8a-9pEssential FunctionsUnderstands and adheres to the WPH Performance Standards, Policies and BehaviorsPerforms all other related duties as assignedPrepares and positions patients correctly for specific examinations, observing different and special requirements for each protocol including proper documentation on images and required body part questionnairesAssumes responsibilities for designated areas and/or procedures and produces good technical imagesAssist physicians during procedures as necessaryPerforms equipment quality assurance and calibrations as needed, orders suppliesWill be required to work in case of emergency procedures or when situations arise in the department. Will be needed to work on call, holidays, overtime and/or day, evening and overnight shift coverage to help maintain adequate and safe coverage for the departmentMaintains the cleanliness of all work areas, equipment and accessories. Reports all malfunctioning equipment to Bio Med and/or supervisor.Processes CD's, or print pictures if neededPerforms routine office duties, such as answering phones, checking previous reports/images, documents information on patients' request, Meditech or hospital riss system and PAC's digital x-ray systemNotifies transport when patients are ready to be picked up or returned to floorsShows radiologist all images and calls reports to the attending physician and documents communication if necessaryMay be assigned as an instructor or preceptorWill treat all people/staff in a professional and courteous manner, upholding the hospital's behavioral standards.Will introduce him/her and educate the patient and/or family member regarding the examination that is ordered.Should be knowledgeable and skillful in providing care, based on age, physical and psychosocial stature of patient populations; neonate/newborn, pediatric/adolescent, adults and geriatric groupsPerforms all other related duties as assignedDuties and hours may change according to the needs of the department or hospitalQualificationsHigh School Required andCompletion of a certified Ultrasound program or certificate1-3 years PreferredOccasionally move about the department to access patients and paperwork (High proficiency)Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery (High proficiency)Frequently communicates with patients who have questions about their bills/financial obligations. Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations. (High proficiency)Must be able to observe and inspect employees and patients in the department.
