In this role, you will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining a variety of machining equipment to produce precision metal components. Your expertise in CNC machining, manual machining, and blueprint interpretation will ensure that all parts meet strict quality standards. Responsibilities - Read and interpret mechanical blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications to determine machining requirements. - Set up and operate CNC machines such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to produce precise components. - Program CNC machines using G-code, M-code, and CAM programming software to ensure accurate machining operations. - Perform manual machining tasks using hand tools, calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and other precision measurement instruments. - Conduct quality inspections during and after machining processes to verify measurements and adherence to tolerances using GD&T principles. - Maintain machine setup by selecting appropriate tooling, fixtures, and tooling offsets; troubleshoot issues as they arise. - Ensure safety standards are followed during all machining activities and maintain a clean work environment. Skills - Proficiency in CNC programming languages including G-code and M-code; experience with CNC milling machines and CNC lathes. - Strong understanding of CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks and general blueprint reading skills. - Mechanical knowledge with the ability to interpret mechanical blueprints accurately. - Experience with manufacturing processes involving metal machining, grinding, boring, and manual machining techniques. - Familiarity with measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and precision measuring instruments for quality control. - Ability to set up machines efficiently while ensuring precision measurement in machining tasks. - Knowledge of GD&T standards for geometric dimensioning and tolerancing; understanding of CNC G-code programming for quality assurance. - Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, tooling setups, and assembly procedures related to machining operations. - Basic math skills for calculating dimensions, feeds, speeds, and tolerances required in manufacturing processes. - Mechanical aptitude combined with strong problem-solving skills to troubleshoot machine issues quickly.
