CAD Technician III

Job Title

Collects and inputs survey and engineering data into a CAD/CAM/CAE software database, and providing specific deliverables to construction and field survey teams in the form of GPS Machine Control Models, Surfaces, Linework and visual Documentation.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities include:

• Assesses engineering requirements and translates into technical blueprints, drawings, layouts, and simulation models using CAD/CAM/CAE software ensures drawings meet product design goals.
• Advanced understanding and usage of CAD/CAM/CAE design and drafting software platforms.
• Oversees modeling and design duties that require site authorization or have legal precedence.
• Reviews and provides feedback on work product(s) for subordinate CAD Technicians.
• Lead technician in matters of design changes/updates.
• Good collaboration skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Qualifications

Qualifications include:

• Fully proficient in a range of technical processes and procedures through job-related training and considerable on-the-job experience to perform a range of work assignments.
• Completes a variety of atypical assignments.
• Works within defined technical processes and procedures or methodologies and may help determine the appropriate approach for new assignments.
• Works with a limited degree of supervision, with overnight focused only on complex new assignments.
• Acts as an informal resource for colleagues with less experience.
• Minimum High School Diploma or GED required; Associate or bachelor's degree in drafting or survey preferred.
• Minimum 4 years of Computer Aided Design (CAD) support and/or experience required.

Physical demands include communication in person, via telephone, email, video chat and software systems. Position will be based from an on-site office on construction sites and industrial facilities requiring mobility (on ground and at heights) and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) including but not limited to: hard hat, safety glasses/goggles, ear plugs/muffs, masks/respirators, safety vests, gloves and work boots.

Work environment includes office, warehouse and in a trailer or building on construction sites. On construction sites noise levels will be moderate to high. Job site will contain - light to heavy equipment vehicles, small to large equipment, materials, communication equipment and tools, people standing, walking, sitting, signaling and talking, bells whistles and alarms.
