Valet Shift Lead - SSM Health St Joseph Hospital, St Charles - $13-$15/hr PLUS cash tips

Overview The Guest Service Captain orchestrates the service experience for hotel guests while working alongside coworkers to ensure the site’s service standards are met or exceeded. Under the direction of the Account Manager, the Captain coordinates and administers duties, troubleshooting and guiding when the manager is not on site. The role is not managerial but may handle critical issues and make judgment calls when expediency is required. Responsibilities / Essential Functions Maintain a pleasant, friendly and professional demeanor with guests, staff, and coworkers; greet guests within 30 seconds of arrival. Open vehicle and hotel doors for guests, check in arriving guests, explain parking procedures, park and retrieve vehicles safely. Use proper phone etiquette, assist with bell services, deliver and pick up items to guest rooms, provide directions, taxis, reservations and other inquiries, and maintain detailed knowledge of the client facility. Promote teamwork by leading the work group, appointing associates to routine roles, and adjusting staffing as directed by the Account Manager. Issue claim checks only after receiving vehicle keys and collect claim checks from all guests prior to issuing keys; complete ticketing information with key tag, folio, location, damage survey, and receipt. Ensure staff do not provide “lift” services; check and clean wheelchairs, protect confidentiality per HIPAA, and secure financial and identifying information. Assist the Account Manager with work schedules, make notification calls, identify and collect revenue, complete cash drop slips, shift reports, and reconcile revenue at the end of each shift. Perform all duties with accuracy, composure, and under pressure, ensuring the smooth operation of the department. Qualifications Education: High school diploma or GED. Licensure / Certification: Minimum 18 years old, successful criminal background, MVR, and drug screen; complete Towne Park Wheelchair Safety Training. Work Experience: At least six months of related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge: Valid driver’s license, clean driving record, manual transmission, standard English proficiency, ability to read, understand, and write simple correspondence, and present information in one‑on‑one or small group settings. Mathematical Skills: Add and subtract three‑digit numbers; multiply and divide using units of American money; understand 24‑hour and military time; compute rates applicable to time. Compensation and Benefits Base pay: $13–$15 per hour plus $3–$7 per hour in tips. Health benefits available to all employees.
