Quality Engineer – Automotive Manufacturing We are currently partnering with a leading automotive manufacturer that is looking to bring on a Quality Engineer to strengthen their Quality Department and champion continuous improvement across the plant. This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll work closely with production teams, customers, and suppliers to ensure the highest levels of quality and compliance with industry standards. What You’ll Be Doing In this role, you’ll take ownership of core quality processes while also serving as a subject matter expert for the organization. You will: Lead and oversee the daily operations of the Quality Department. Drive the APQP process for new product development and prepare full PPAP documentation , including control plans and process flows. Conduct internal quality audits and provide training on audit procedures. Ensure compliance with IATF 16949 standards (Lead Auditor certification preferred). Manage non-conforming product segregation, maintaining accurate logs and records. Participate in 8D problem-solving teams to perform root cause analysis and drive corrective actions. Serve as a key liaison with both customers and suppliers regarding quality issues, including travel as needed. Maintain controlled documents, author clear work instructions, and oversee document management. Perform receiving inspections and final dock audits for packaging, labeling, and shipping readiness. Support job setups, oversee inspection and measurement equipment, and ensure calibration practices are upheld. What the Company is Looking For: The ideal candidate brings both technical expertise and a proactive, problem-solving mindset. Specifically, the company is seeking someone with: Strong knowledge of GD&T . Proven background in automotive manufacturing quality systems . Hands-on experience with continuous improvement initiatives . Solid understanding of IATF 16949 and familiarity with AIAG core tools (APQP, PPAP, FMEA, SPC, MSA). Experience with 8D methodology and exposure to PPM analysis . Knowledge of gage calibration (a plus). Strong computer skills, including proficiency in quality software and Microsoft Office.
