ATHENA places a high value on customer service, accountability, and getting the job done. Position Summary We are currently recruiting a Career Advisor for Equus Workforce Solutions. This full-time, temporary position pays $22.60 per hour and is located in Waukesha, Wisconsin . The assignment is expected to last 90 days (with opportunity to be apply for direct hire placement) , with a work schedule of Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. This position requires driving, and candidates must be able to meet background check requirements including criminal background, MVR, and drug screen . Essential Duties and Responsibilities Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Build professional one-on-one working relationships with clients to help eliminate barriers to obtaining and retaining employment. Provide consistent and comprehensive case management and follow-up. Conduct new customer orientations and support positive outcomes and contract goals. Work with schools, account managers, and management to ensure appropriate documentation is completed and received. Facilitate professional development workshops. Maintain organized client databases and detailed documentation of all client contacts. Ensure participants follow through with planned activities outlined in the funding agency contract. Provide individualized assessments and refer participants to appropriate community or social service agencies when needed. Accurately complete required enrollment documentation. Document all participant contacts and activities in case notes. Help resolve participant attendance issues. Assist with project reports, including participation and placement reporting. Support program operations, including introductory workshops, weekly workshops, grant issuance, and placement data collection. Coordinate job preparation workshops to ensure a business-driven curriculum, high-quality presentation, satisfactory participation, clear next steps, and tangible outputs. Work collaboratively with the business services team to identify available jobs, required qualifications, and training opportunities. Develop and maintain a standard communication plan to keep staff informed of center-wide issues and operational goals. Participate in training, capacity building, and professional development. Work with leadership to identify operational challenges and implement process improvements. Provide operational support and coverage as needed. Assist with intake services for the center. Provide operations support for compliance-driven standards. Perform other duties as assigned. Required Skills and Abilities: Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and remain self-motivated. Excellent verbal, written, and listening communication skills. Ability to understand and adhere to assigned duties, methods, and procedures. Working knowledge of MS Office, including Excel and Outlook. Ability to prioritize tasks and document visits and contacts. Strong telephone, computer, written, and verbal communication skills. Strong leadership skills with the ability to thrive in environments with multiple stakeholders, frequent change, and diverse objectives. Professional understanding of a broad range of occupations and career paths. Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in education, social services, healthcare, communications, or a related field preferred. At least two years of experience in career advisement and development, workshop facilitation, workforce curriculum development, public speaking, and content development. Customer service experience required. Experience working with diverse populations and supporting employment-focused services preferred. Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Standard hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; evening and weekend hours may be required. Travel may be required. Must be able to meet the driving requirements of the position.
